Pete in Time Out

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:51 pm

This appeared in Time Out this week, and also on the journalist Stephen Emms’ blog, linked to above.

Mat’s eloquent text is here:

Mat Croft (bandmate, 27): ‘Pete was a big personality, a wild-haired, hilarious guy who made an impact wherever he went. We’d been close since our teens so we did a lot of growing up together playing music. A natural showman, Pete was explosive and unpredictable on stage – even at our last show, whilst he could barely stand, he still gave it his all. Everyone felt that the top of Primrose Hill was the perfect place as Pete spent so much time there, and since losing him it’s been a spot to sit and reflect. We put on a memorial concert and so many people donated money for the bench that Pete’s mum Alison was able to start a charity fund, The Peter Stevens Music Project, which provides music lessons at two Pupil Referral Units in Hackney. It’s the sort of work he intended to do when he recovered.’

Feb 1st - Petefest ‘09!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:44 am

The 1st of February would have been Pete’s birthday so we’ve planned a night of music from Pete’s friends.

It’s £5 entry and all profits will go to the Peter Stevens Music Project which funds music tuition in Pupil Referral Units. More info on that here: http://www.peterstevens.net/site/?page_id=11

Bands confirmed so far:

Mexigo Indigo
The Cardboard Jon Idea (one-off reunion, playing some Pete-approved classic rock covers)
JS Rafaeli (of the Bicycle Thieves)
Kris & Mat (of the Robot Blues)
The Klouds

We hope to see plenty of you there!
